The health and wellbeing of our patients, carers, visitors and our staff is our number one priority at all times. The following information is aimed to help ensure your safety and wellbeing when visiting the Hospital.
Western continues with ongoing assessment of the Covid-19 health alert and any decisions are based on the recommendations from SA Health and the Australian Government Department of Health.
At Western, we continue to screen all patients in regard to the risk of COVID-19. This screening will commence at preadmission and uses a series of questions.
This includes:
-
reviewing your current health for any signs or symptoms,
-
reviewing if you have been exposed to COVID-19, and
-
identifying if you have had COVID-19 and the date of last infection.
These questions will be asked via the preadmission clinic and/or at reception on the day of your admission.
If you do not meet the admitting screening requirements, we will liaise with your admitting doctor as your admission may not proceed.
If you develop symptoms of COVID-19 prior to your admission, please advise your admitting doctor as soon as possible.
On Entry to the hospital, we ask that everyone practice regular hand hygiene.
